For Miranda Kerr’s marriage to Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, she too chose a gorgeous modest wedding dress designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. In an interview with Vogue, Kerr explained that her look was inspired by Grace Kelly’s iconic 1956 wedding gown. “A dress that fully covers you creates a sense of purity and mystery,” she said; what’s not to love about that?
When it comes to classic wedding gowns, it would be impossible not to mention the stunning wedding dress Grace Kelly wore when she married Monaco’s Prince Rainier on April 19, 1956. This iconic gown was designed by MGM costume designer Helen Rose, who made the bodice from delicate Brussels lace, while the silk taffeta skirt featured a long, elegant train worthy of a princess. A dramatic, circular veil completed what is considered one of the most iconic wedding dresses of all time, influencing countless brides, including Kate Middleton.
Kate Middleton’s gorgeous gown is doubtless the most iconic wedding dress of the 21st century. Even after nearly a decade since their wedding day, this stunning gown still stands the test of time and is sure to for decades to come.

When it came to her big day, singer Ellie Goulding chose to work with Chloé’s creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi. Describing the process of designing her wedding dress, the Grammy-nominated singer had this to say, “Natacha worked alongside me to design something timeless and classic, but with all the Chloé spirit. Natacha is a very talented designer and I have admired her work from day one. I have never felt more special than the moment I first tried on the dress during my fitting in Paris, it was utterly awe-inspiring to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail.”
Speaking of British singers, we would be amiss not to mention former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and her stunning modest wedding dress. For her big day, Halliwell chose to work with English designer Phillipa Lepley to create a gorgeous gown with lace sleeves and a full, romantic skirt.
When activist and victim advocate Elizabeth Smart tied the knot, she initially had a difficult time finding the perfect gown. “I tried on just about every dress in Utah,” Smart said in an interview with People. Serendipitously, a cross-country trip proved just the trick. “I was going to New York with my friend for the weekend and we thought, ‘Why don’t we just see if we can get into Kleinfeld’s and look around?’” After scoring an appointment at the famed Manhattan bridal shop she found her dream dress. Designed by Alita Graham, this gorgeous gown — with lace sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and satin-covered buttons down the back — was the perfect choice for this strong and inspiring woman.
For Audrey Hepburn’s marriage in 1954, she chose a tea-length, a-line dress with a satin sash, ballgown sleeves, and a high neckline designed by Pierre Balmain – and she couldn’t have looked more stunning!
